Built from the Heart
In 2013, Fresa first set foot in Labuan Bajo. She was instantly captivated — not just by the raw beauty of the ocean, but by the feeling that this place held something greater. A calling.
Driven by that spark, she launched Floresrunaway in 2014 — a boutique travel concept aimed at sharing the soul of Flores with curious travelers. But she dreamed of doing more — not just guiding journeys, but creating a vessel for them.
In 2015, she partnered with Marc to bring that dream to life. Together, they designed and built the first Samara boat from the ground up. A handcrafted phinisi that reflected both Indonesian heritage and a modern sense of barefoot luxury.
Since then, the Samara fleet has continued to grow — not just in size, but in spirit. What started as one boat has expanded into a collection of bespoke yachts, each designed to feel like a second home at sea.
